Laos - Vientiane
I have over 300 photos taken during the 6-days Laos trip, have been trying to sort things out and upload the pics to the Internet from work. However the work pc don't have Admin right and can't download ActiveX and ended up having to upload one-by-one. I am greedy wanted to post most of the photos but now have to reselect again. I cannot be uploading one-by-one for 300 pics!
I finally decided to spilt them by categories. I might not be able to upload everything today, there will be more categories coming up, so stay tuned for more. (Psst.. my boss has moved to sit somewhere behind me so today he went training and only then I got a chance to do some 'other' work.)
Vientiane is the capital of Laos. Not many people have heard about or know anything about the country. It's a poor country, nothing fancy or luxurious. Most of the visitors to Laos are mat sallehs. There are no fast-food chain or supermarkets around, there are a couple of bigger buildings selling clothes and stuff in the Chinatown area though, no hypermarket for sure. I've noticed the girls/ladies most of them have smooth long black hair, those that you see in the commercial. And the people there never wear glasses/spectacles, talk about less TV and computer influence and effect.

Public Bank - the only Malaysian bank - established 1995
My dad is the first manager in Public Bank Vientiane. He was transferred to open the first Public Bank in Laos in 1995. My mom and bro followed. I stayed behind in Malaysia as it was my SPM year, I went and lived with my aunt. They came back to Malaysia after 1.5 years there.

This is my first time to Laos. For my family, this is a revisit to the place they once lived after 12 years.

Hmm..Laos is a country where Malaysians know nothing much about. Or probably just me?
Sabai dee!! Hey, interesting. More pictures and stories please? I have wanted to visit Laos for a while but the flight seemed expensive. That's because Laos is not exactly commercialised yet. This is the right time to do. :) So your parents and bro can speak the language? Tell me more!!
survon: don't worry u'r not alone :)
primrose:
- the flights costs us RM800 each (we only bought a week before the trip)
- my dad speaks a little and can understand when they speak slowly, my mum only knows the few words to get her around buying stuff! (eg. how much, expensive, discount) :D
