bad example from parents
Was in 1-Utama yesterday for a movie. They were giving out free candy floss to those who showed 2 paid tickets stub to them. I was queueing for it to get my tickets stamped to get the candy floss. I was second last in the queue.
Out from nowhere came a man with his two kids (daughter is about 6-7 years old, son is 3-4 years old) standing next to the person in front of me. The man handed the movie tickets to the kids ushering them to go ahead and get the candy floss. I looked at him, he looked at me, we had eye contact, and he turned and walked away pretending I was invinsible. The daughter was seen calling out to his dad. The man came back, this time obviously telling the daughter to just cut queue and get the candy. The wife was now standing beside him. Both the parents were trying to talk their kids into stepping in the queue. Obviously the daughter was reluctant to do so as she had stepped away shaking her head. It ended up with the mum holding the son's hand, stepped into the queue and grabbed the candy floss. The dad looked like he's going to scold the daughter for making some mistake, that's the facial experience he had at that moment.
What kind of parents is that? Even the daughter knows that it is rude and unethical to do so and is even ashamed for she walked away. Shameful on both of you parents. I despise you.

Sigh. They think that kids are cute enough to be able to cut queues. Well, actually, I would allow a kid to do that IF they parent is not with him/her and IF she/he asks me if she/he can get the candy floss first. But sighs again. Parents nowadays. They still think their kids are bloody cute enough to pull it off! Why didn't you say something to the father?
We Asians (or Malaysians?) are too polite to speak out and reprimand these type of people!
primrose: the father is actually TEACHING his kids to cut queue, i won't wanna mess with his parenting. the daughter's resistant already says it for all to see.
3fireflies: true, sometimes also we are too scared to "jaga tepi kain orang" for fear of unwanted consequences later, we have heard so much of the kindness act backfired.
Let's just say that WE are very nice ppl, that's why we let things like this go. :) Hope your movie was Transformers. :) I watched already. NICEEE!!
